Tuck Everlasting
Village Theatre KIDSTAGE Summer Independent Program 2020
Technical Director: Andrew Long
Scenic Designer: Rebecca Strom
Director: Mathew Graham
This project was a special one that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon learning that we were not putting on an actual production, I started thinking about how to best represent everyones work, including my own, in a way that was similar to putting on the true nature of the production. I decided to bring up the idea of a model that everyone could contribute to, which everyone jumped on. For my part, I was able to use my carpentry skill on a much smaller project, which just happened to be the very first model I made. It truly made me test my skills while also learning some new ones, specifically for model building.
Whole Model. Made mostly out of Balsa wood. Front Tree Portal made out of Balsa wood with acetate at the top to hold leaves in place.
Main Platform. Made out of Balsa wood.
Moving Door. Made out of Balsa wood.
Tuck Tree. Made out of sculpting clay and backed with Balsa wood.
Fence Gate. Made out of Balsa wood
Overall Timelapse!
Here is a video of the build process for the model. I had a lot of fun building it and can’t wait to see how I can use my new found skills for model building!
